Happy Holidays!

Winter Camp is underway, so nice to have all the kids out of school and riding their ponies!

All had a wonderful time at the Christmas party; wonderful food care of Le Grand Appetit, and fantastic horseless jumping in the indoor for entertainment! So glad so many folks could make it!

Virtue and Katie Huber were the Second Year Green and Grand Green Hunter Champions.  For their winnings, they received the W. Howard Baker Trophy and the Laura Paxton Baker Challenge Trophy.

One More Time and Anna Rossi were Large Pony Hunter and Grand Pony Hunter Champion.  For their winnings, they received the Shadow Ridge trophy and Pinocchio trophy.

Wild Card Cody and Sarah Anderson were Large Childrens Pony Hunter Reserve Champions and 3rd in the VHSA Pony Medal Finals. 

Casino, owned by Jessamy Rousom, and Katie Huber were Reserve Champion with Katie Huber in both the hopeful hunters and the young hunters.

We had a very successful week Upperville, all the horses were great and our riders rode extremely well!

Masquerade and Gillian Morrissey and Wild Card Cody and Sarah Anderson placed 3rd in the Local Pony Pairs.  The Rossi Family riding Valente and No Doubt were 2nd in the Family Class.  Masquerade and Georgia Orme-Smith were 2nd in the Lead Line 4-6, handled by Leigh Stitzer.  In the Walk Trot over 7, Martine Thompson was 1st with West Wing, Erin Gill and Making Memories were 3rd, and Claire Newton and My Fair Lady were 4th.

End Of The Year Awards 2009

As of November 24th, 2009:

Congrats to everyone on an amazing 2009!

Virtue wound up 3rd in USEF national points for the First Year Green division.  Congrats to Virtue for also being VHSA First Year Green year end champion, as well as USEF zone 3 Horse of the Year.  

Upshot, owned by Amanda Miles, ranked 13th nationaly in the USEF regular working hunter division, as well as 5th nationaly in the regular conformation division.

Hope I'm It wound up 2nd in USEF national point for the medium green pony division.  Hope I'm It was also VHSA grand pony champion as well as USEF zone 3 horse of the year.

One More Time wound up in the top 30 in USEF national points for the large pony division.  One More Time was also VHSA reserve champion large pony hunter, and 4th in zone 3.

Out Of The Blue was 4th in the VHSA medium pony hunter division, as well as 7th in the USEF zone 3.

Hampton wound up 4th in the VHSA green conformation divsion, as well as 12th in the large Jr. division.

They started out strong on day one, with two fabulous rounds, which gave them a 10th place in the conformation round, and 2nd place in the handy!
The following day, one more great round gave them the 12th place jog.

The Rossi pony herd had a wonderful time in Kentucky at Pony Finals.  All the ponies were stars!

Hope I'm It was 9th overall, Out Of The Blue finished 12th place overall, and One More Time was 12th overall.

Old Dominion Horse Show 2009- Manikin Sabot, VA

Hampton and Rachel DeMuro were reserve champions in the Large Jrs

Hope I'm It and Anna Rossi had a clean sweep in the Green Ponies, and were the champions of their division.

Out Of The Blue and Anna Rossi were reserve champions in the Medium Ponies. The pair were also 4th in the Pony Derby the following day. Anna and her large pony One More Time picked up good ribbons in the Large Ponies, and were 8th in the derby.

Anna and Theodore were champions of the Old Dominion Hunters on Wednesday, and got their names engraved on it's perpetual trophy.  The pair also had a successful first time in the Large Jrs, including winning the handy class.

Lissa Bachner's Maddox was 2nd in the $10,000 Hunter Derby with Katie Huber. Maddox was also the best turned out derby horse courtesy of our groom Edwin, who was the "most awesome groom!"  Maddox also had a great weekend in the Large Jrs with Anna Rossi, and the pair were reserve champions in the younger section.

Hampton and Katie picked up the champion for the Green Confirmation Hunters and the Grand Hunter title. Hampton also received great ribbons in the Large Jr. youngers with owner Rachel DeMuro, as well as 7th in the $10,000 Hunter Derby with Rachel!

Virtue was reserve champion with Katie Huber in the 1st Years.

Hope I'm It was champion in the S/m green ponies with Anna Rossi.

One More Time and Anna Rossi were reserve champions in the Large Ponies.

James River Horse Show 2009- Spotslyvania, VA

Virtue and Katie Huber picked up the tricolor for the 1st Year Greens.

Maddox and Lissa Bachner were reserve champions in the Amateur Owner Youngers. Maddox also had a class win in the Jr. Hunters with Anna Rossi.

Love That Music picked up some top ribbons in the 2nd year Pre Greens with Katie Huber, as well as in the Adult Amateurs with Barb Losselyong.

Out Of The Blue won the Farnley Sir Rodger Challenge Trophy for champion in the Medium Pony Hunters with Anna Rossi.  They also were the winners of the Jean Mims Tysinger Memorial Trophy, awarded to the high point winner of the Small and Medium Pony Hunters.

One More Time and Anna Rossi were reserve champions in the Large Pony Hunters, winning both over fences classes on the second day.

Hope I'm It was reserve champion in the Small/Medium Green Pony Hunters with Anna Rossi.

West Wing was champion with Anna Rossi in the Schooling Ponies on Friday Afternoon.

Virtue and Katie Huber were champion in the 1st Years.

Maddox and Anna Rossi were champion in the Jr. Hunters. Anna was also champion in the medium ponies with her Out Of The Blue, and champion in the large ponies with her One More Time.

Hope I'm it was reserve champion in the s/m green ponies with Anna.

Rafferty and Megan McGovern were champion in the open hunters. The pair who also a very promising start in the Jr hunters!

Hampton made his Jr hunter debut with Rachel DeMuro, and Rachel also had a great weekend aboard Madison.

Rachel Demuro and Madison won the $5,000 Childrens Hunter Classic.

Megan McGovern with Rafferty and Rachel DeMuro with Madison were champion and reserve in the childrens hunter division, week 4 and 5. Also congrats to Rachel with Hampton on a successful start back.

Hope I'm It was champion week 4 and reserve week 5 in the S/M green ponies with Anna Rossi.

One More Time was 3rd in the $5,000 Pony Commotion with Anna Rossi. Congrats to Anna on also being 3rd in the Jr. Hunter Classic with Maddox. Anna also had a great start back with Out Of The Blue!

Maddox and Katie Huber were 6th in the USHJA International Hunter Derby out of 62 horses!

Stoneridge Farm has been a Great Falls institution for almost 50 years. Our lesson program, offered to boarders and those in our leasing programs, is tailored to meet your specific riding goals.

We teach riders of all ages and ambitions, ages 5 - 60+, lessons only to A-rated shows. Our teaching staff, in addition to Sharon, includes Leigh Stitzer and Susan Porter.

Leigh specializes in starting young beginner riders, taking them from their very first lesson, tacking up their pony, riding on a longe line, and eventually riding in small group lessons.
